Skills Workshops Launched For Svella Connect Managers

A range of skills training workshops are being delivered to Svella Connect managers to help support their managerial development and enhance their leadership skills.

‘Bitesize manager toolkit’ training sessions are being delivered by the learning and development team to 35 managers in the Connections business unit. The weekly sessions work on core building blocks for managers such as soft skills, systems training, line manager processes and themes around leadership.

Emily Sharpes, L&D Business Partner, said: “The bitesize manager toolkits are a fantastic way to upskill our managers and support their development. We want to ensure all our managers have the core training to effectively oversee their individual teams and get the best out of them.

“The toolkit sessions are very practical and deliver skills that can be applied immediately. They have been very well received so far and we hope to expand the initiative to managers across the other business units during 2023.”

David Mobey, Civils Supervisor, said: “The sessions have been very well planned and the information has been easy to digest. I've thoroughly enjoyed the sessions we've done so far and I feel I have taken away so much in a short space of time.

“I'm learning new things each week and also brushing up on topics I haven't done for a while. I feel my team have felt the benefits of the training I have received so far and my confidence as a manager is growing as a direct result of this training.”
